A defensive weapon is any weapon or item that is intended to help prevent or defend against an aggressor during an assault situation. They can be used by themselves, but in most cases, they are used in conjunction with martial arts tactics such as striking, kicking, and throwing items such as rocks and bottles acids, and chemical irritants such as pepper spray.
Self-defense weapons might also include knives or firearms depending on the type of crime one may face. The two main uses of these weapons are either as an offensive or defensive weapon. Defensive use is most common, where the person will use it to build a defense against an attack. The offensive use is used when they want to make an attack against someone else.
Some defensive weapons are readily available to the public while others are only sold to certain people, such as law enforcement officers or military personnel. In most cases, anyone can purchase and own a few types of self-defense weapons if they have been 18 years old for over a year and in good mental and physical condition.
Self-Defense Weapons:
The world is a dangerous place. If you have never had to defend yourself, odds are that one day you will. Whether it be in the form of an attacker or a robber, being prepared can save your life.
These three self-defense weapons all share the same basic function and all provide the means for self-defense: they can be used for physical contact, for distances away from your body, or as close-range weapons depending on the situation. Choose one of these defensive weapons for you:
1. Pepper Spray:
Pepper spray is considered by many to be one of the most effective self-defense weapons available. The pepper spray is legal in all 50 states, as long as you are over 18 or over 21 in some states. It can be purchased at any sporting goods store or local department store and can be purchased for under $20.00. It comes in a variety of forms, from small pepper gel cans that fit on your keychain to larger aerosol cans that attach to a belt or purse.
2. Stun Guns:
Stun Guns are basically very small and powerful Tasers. They work on the principle that a person that is shocked will get confused for long enough to give you time to act. You can find these at most sporting goods stores and gun shops, but the best place to find them is online. It is quite common for stores to have stun guns but they do not put them on display, so you will have to shop around if you want one.
3. Brass Knucklesr:
These are the original self-defense weapons. They have been around for hundreds of years and are still widely used today. Brass knuckles are used for punching and can be deadly if wielded correctly. How do you carry these items?
You have to be careful because most states do not allow the second two options, so you will have to check on that. As far as your pepper spray goes it is best to get a holster. Some come with holsters, and others can be attached to belts or bags, but they need to be in a place that is easily accessible in case of an attack. It is not advisable to keep pepper spray in your pocket because it can't be accessed quickly if needed.
Reasons to Carry Defensive Weapons:

Self-defense weapons such as knives or pepper spray can be small but effective tools and could save your life on the spot if you unfortunately find yourself in an unsafe situation where you need to defend yourself., unfortunately,
If you are carrying a defense weapon you can protect yourself from being overpowered

Shooting somebody with a bullet will kill them while other weapons may not always be lethal. If somebody has come in contact with something that could kill them, they may act out when threatened. This is why you should carry more than one means of protection on your person at all times.
